Obsidian - Why I Love it and How to Get Started

Mar 06, 2023 | Obsidian, Computer, Self improvement | 14 minute read

It has officially been a year since I discovered Obsidian and made it a part of my daily life. This little video from a low subscriber channel popped up in my suggestions and completely shifted my focus on how I handle my life. It wasn’t immediate, but learning to take notes and connect ideas has made it so much easier for me to think, stay on task, and actually get things done. Read more...

The Linux Command Line

Jan 10, 2023 | Linux, Notes | 2 minute read

As my friends have become painfully aware, I’ve been using Linux for about 6 months now as I just descend further and further into computing and programming, as if hard coding my own website through the terminal with Hugo wasn’t a bad enough sign of how far my life has fallen. BTW, I use Arch. Obviously that’s not to say that Linux is hard to use or requires a self issued degree in computing. Read more...

YouTube Freemium

Nov 29, 2022 | Alternatives, Computer, Phone | 4 minute read

YouTube Freemium Whether you use it for music, how to’s, politics, games, or whatever else, YouTube is nearly essential for everyday living, but it’s pretty damn obvious that the ads are getting out of control. Having one or two 15 second ads at the start of a video was one thing, but having several every couple minutes is absolutely ridiculous. Of course you could use YouTube Premium, but what if you don’t have the money? Read more...

Brutal Legend

Us nerds have been having surprisingly good luck with movies recently. Prior to, and with a few exceptions, video game movies were ass. More often then not, they either didn't really know what the game was about, didn't care what it was about, or shat something out expecting to make a buck, but with the success of Sonic the Hedgehog, movie companies have actually started to see potential in things. Now you've got Dungeons and Dragons and Super Mario Bros both getting films that, while average to above average to the normal viewer, were entertaining rollercoasters of good humor, references, and story for fans of the IP's. I actually saw both and enjoyed the ever loving hell out of them.

All that to say Jack Black is the king of kings and blew it out of the motherfucking park with Bowser! I'm dead certain he pleaded with Nintendo and Illumination to get to sing in character and I am damn near grateful he did. As my only form of tribute I can adequately muster, I've got Brutal Legend open for everybody. Enjoy the game and enjoy the Jack Black-iness of pro-metal music hack-and-slash.
